EV charging stations work by using an AC to DC converter to charge the vehicle’s battery. Chargers can be plugged into standard household outlets, 220 volt “dryer” outlets, or specially wired ports for higher voltages.
This is something that won’t last forever. As electric vehicles become more popular, the EV charging infrastructure has fallen behind. State and City governments have taken notice and provided incentives in the form of credits and rebates to grow the charging infrastructure. Applying for the credits and rebates takes months and a lot of paperwork. Our partners have done this work for you so that you can receive your EV charging stations for free.
When your patrons are charging their vehicles they will consume power. However, they will be charged for that usage on our mobile app. You can choose to set a rate higher than our cost and the difference is your profit to keep.
For this example we are using data from Los Angeles. Data for your market may vary. In this market we suggest setting your price for electricity at $0.45/kWh, as the utility charges an average of $0.26. (For comparison, Tesla sets the rate at their level 3 supercharging stations at $0.57.kWh.) In this garage we had three Tesla Model 3’s and two plug-in hybrid vehicles charging at their leisure throughout one month. All cars used 1188 kilowatt hours of electricity for the month. We charge a $0.10/kWh fee for ongoing maintenance and software support.
1188 – Total kwh
$534.60 – Income
($308.33) – Cost of Electricity
($118.80) – Support Charge
$107.47 – Monthly Profit for 5 Vehicles

We can offer level 2 and level 3 fast chargers. The quantity and speed is typically set by property qualifications set by your utility provider or local government. We will install as many chargers of the highest charging speed possible. Level 2 chargers typically will fill a battery in 6-7 hours overnight. Level 3 fast chargers can take as little as 20 minutes.
Unfortunately we do not offer chargers for 1-4 unit residentially zoned properties at this time. However, we invite you to investigate rebate options with your local utility.
The initial term is for 5 years. Our partner installer will replace any parts under warranty except for vandalism damage. Ongoing maintenance and software support is also included as part of a small surcharge per kWh which is passed on to users.
We require a 5 year contract signed, and internet access for the chargers. After the 5 year initial term we are happy to renew, or you can keep the chargers and find another support partner or handle customer service internally.
